Devil’s Isle is a small group of boaters, most of whom belong to other boating groups or yacht clubs and enjoy the peace of getting away from the crowd in the California Delta. You need to own a boat capable of the basic living arrangements such as sleeping, eating, and head facilities, in other words, self contained. There are no live-a-boards allowed at the island. What you bring to the island, you take away from the island. Members like a quiet getaway place.
Each spring and summer, the members meet at an arranged weekend work party to clean up the island from the winter debris that happens from the rains. Members sweep, wash decks, repaint and repair docks. Members are required to attend at least one work party each year to assist with cleanup and repairs. Evening at these work parties have been fun gatherings around the BBQ. Work parties last at least two days and some come early to get things washed down ahead of the repairs. Volunteering is needed as the island has no staff.
Cost to join and yearly fees are minimal compared to other yacht clubs and locations in the Delta with more facilities like hired caretakers and electrical power at the dock.
